About 4.5 hours dropping to Wash Brook, climbing Edge Common, then through Standish Woods to Haresfield Beacon. Spring bluebells in the woods are a bonus if your timing is right.

King's Stanley is a practical village stop near the Stroudwater Navigation. Less postcard-perfect than Painswick but good for a night's rest before the longer push to Dursley.
